The Jussie Smollett case continues despite the prosecution dropping all charges against him. The police chief had previously said there was overwhelming evidence, so what happened?
Jussie Smollett had claimed he was attacked in a hate crime, that was then uncovered to allegedly have been staged, by him. The police chief claimed they had compelling evidence to back up that fraud claim.
What’s puzzling is why prosecutors would then dismiss all charges. Equally confusing is Jussie Smollett trying to keep the case sealed. This, following his assertions that he is innocent.
Of course, President Trump felt a need to chime in and called the case “an embarrassment.”
It seems that the F.B.I. is weighing in with an investigation of their own. So just as it seemed that the dram was coming to an end, it isn’t.
