Back to school reading can vary. Psychologist Dr. Bart Rossi, PhD digs into the content kids are being given to read. And moreover, provides some suggestions for the types of content parents should be focused on giving to their children.

When it’s time for back to school, parents begin to refocus on reading materials for their kids.  Teachers also begin developing their reading lists for students as well.  When you think of reading success, it is not just committing time to read. Absorbing what you read is just as important. So knowing how to choose the right materials for kids and teenagers is paramount.

Many of us grew up and certainly had some required reading. Mark Twain, Hemingway, and other critically-acclaimed literature were on those lists. And not that high-literature should not be on those lists, but there are other very productive reading ideas as well.
