Avoid the Holiday Stress

The holiday season can be a happy and joyful time for many.  But with all the hustle, bustle, friends and family, one also needs to to try and avoid the holiday stress that comes with it. So how do your prepare for a stress-free holiday?Dr. Bart Rossi, PhD, a clinical psychologist stopped into the WINK News studio to provide some advice.Your frame of mind plays a part in avoiding stress, and Dr. Rossi, PhD suggests getting yourself into a positive state of mind. Like the song says, accentuate the positives, and stay focused on them.Avoid politics, but if you can’t avoid it, state your positions, your thoughts and leave it at that — don’t try to win arguments on a political position. Or any arguments for that matter, even with kids, and other family members.To keep people from getting aggressive, be inquisitive; everyone loves to talk about themselves, often forgetting about more contemptuous discussions on the tip of their tongue.So be a listener, ask questions, let other’s shine. There are many topics that you can stimulate. But there is always someone who will be a potential aggravation. So how to do handle them?
